Our history

The Clifton Hotels Group started as a small bed and breakfast. From the outset, guest experience was key as we aimed to provide a haven where guests could sleep, eat, work and play any time of day. Over time, our portfolio has grown and evolved into a collection of the best independent hotels in Bristol, including the Berkeley Square and Rodney hotels.

In recent years the company has grown into a community of boutique hotels, unique workspaces, stylish bars and award-winning restaurants. With over 60 years of hospitality experience, we can guarantee an unrivalled Clifton stay. All of our venues are brimming with character and individuality and each guarantees the personal service and individuality you’d expect from an independent hotel in Bristol.

Events & exhibitions

Across our portfolio of venues we host a varied programme of events including networking groups, wellness sessions and workshops. Our neighbours and sister brand, The Square Club, are Bristol’s premier private members club for creatives and are home to a quarterly, revolving art exhibition of local talent in the Square Gallery. We also host ‘How The Light Gets In,’ a nationally renowned Philosophy and Music Festival.
